DISCLAIMER
Service industry staff are not the ones who make government policies. Business managers, business owners, and people in social media comments are not the ones who make the government policies.
For the past two years we have worked in an industry with some of the most disorienting and difficult COVID policies in Ontario. We are not in a position to decide which regulations we can and cannot follow, that is the government’s decision not ours. PLEASE do not take out your frustrations with these regulations on our staff (or any other staff) who are affected by this. We are your neighbours, your friends, your kids soccer coaches, your teammates… kindness goes a long way! Let’s keep politics away from the dinner table and let’s bring it back to arguing about how the Yankees are going to lose out to the Blue Jays this season!
IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS about policies, please contact the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1-833-943-3900
THE POLICY
We will be following the new required regulation for patrons who are seated inside to require vaccinations. This means all restaurants will require both doses of a COVID vaccination (and have had so for 14 days). Please see the attached photo for more information.
Patio will be available to those who do not have their proof of vaccination on hand. At our specific restaurant there is a small area where the patio is covered, but it will be weather dependent if we can seat this area (if it’s raining sideways we cannot seat people outside).
FAQ
Where can you get your proof of vaccine from? Either from the email you had your appointment confirmation on, or visit this website: https://covid19.ontariohealth.ca/app-identity?viewId=7RAEJ3R88XY5. We will accept digital or printed copies at the table.
Is our staff vaccinated? Our staff is following this policy to the best of their abilities as well. If they are not vaccinated for any reason, they will be participating in regular voluntary COVID testing following public health guidelines without judgement.
Why is this policy happening? Again, we are not the experts. Please direct any questions or concerns to the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1-833-943-3900
️What if I’m medically exempt from the vaccine? Those who are exempt from the vaccination are able to present a doctors note with your valid ID instead.
What ID can I use? Valid ID is the same as when you get ID’d to drink. (Passport, Drivers License, Military ID, BYID, Citizenship card, Secure Indian Status card, Ontario Photo Card or Permanent Resident card. (By law, no one can be required to produce the Ontario Health Card, nor can the health number be collected. We cannot ask for the Ontario Health Card as identification, but if offered voluntarily we may accept it.))
MORE QUESTIONS?
Thank you for taking on this new policy with kindness. Being kind to those who come to work during this crazy time is appreciated (as we know you all will be).
